About Madison
Madison’s life-long dream is to utilize the magic of the storytelling arts to inspire imagination, hope, and humanity into audience-goers.
Madison Merkel (also known as MadiMerk) is a confident, quirky erudite. Growing up in the Atlanta suburbs, Madison fell in love with the magic of theatre in high school, which led her to pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. During that time, Madison played prominent roles in Sylvia, Every Brilliant Thing, and The Caucasian Chalk Circle, directed The Wolves, performed with Samford’s Dance Company, worked in AL and IL as a Teaching Artist, and performed professionally in both Henry V in Oak Brook, IL and Cabaret in Birmingham, AL.
After graduating from Samford, Madison worked as an intern for JET Theatre in metro-Detroit where she played Patty Simcox in Grease. In 2022, Madison played Agent Walsh in A Simple Sanctuary in Lancaster, PA. Now, Madison is working towards her MFA in Acting at The University of Alabama (Roll Tide) and recently played Toinette in UA’s The Imaginary Invalid and Cassius in Julius Casear.
Madison is a certified 200-Hour Yoga Teacher and loves moving through yoga, dance, and rock climbing. In addition to teaching acting and yoga at The University of Alabama, Madison is the Administrative Coordinator for ARTSiE, a non-profit in Chicago providing arts enrichment for children.
