About Madison

Madison Merkel (also known as MadiMerk) is an actor and educator passionate about using the power of the arts to inspire imagination, hope, and human connection.

Originally from the Atlanta suburbs, Madison fell in love with theatre in high school, setting her on a path to earn a BFA in Musical Theatre from Samford University. During her undergraduate years, she took on leading roles in Sylvia, Every Brilliant Thing, and The Caucasian Chalk Circle, directed The Wolves, performed with Samford’s Dance Company, and worked professionally as both a teaching artist and performer. During college, her regional credits included Henry V (First Folio) and Cabaret (VST).

Following graduation, Madison expanded her experience through interning in Acting and Theater Management with JET Theatre in metro-Detroit, playing Patty Simcox in Grease and understudying Anne Frank in a virtual TYA production. Later, Madison moved to Lancaster, PA to play Agent Walsh in A Simple Sanctuary with Blue Gate Musicals. Now pursuing her MFA in Acting at The University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), she has recently taken on dynamic roles such as Toinette in The Imaginary Invalid and Cassius in Julius Caesar.

Beyond acting, Madison is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, blending movement and mindfulness into her creative practice. She’s also an avid rock climber and dancer, always seeking new ways to connect body and performance. As a dedicated arts educator, she teaches acting and yoga at The University of Alabama and serves as the Head of Marketing and Communications for ARTSiE, a Chicago-based nonprofit bringing arts enrichment to children.

Recently married and a proud dog mom, Madison embraces every adventure with joy—whether it’s on stage, in the classroom, or on an adventure with her husband and cocker spaniel. With a heart for storytelling and a mission to spark curiosity and connection, Madison continues to explore, create, and inspire on stage, in the classroom, and beyond.
